Welcome to Anglers Say
WELCOME

After a well-earned break the Anglers Say team are back in action doing what it does best – working together to improve our sport.

During our time ‘off air’ we have not been idle. Initially we had discussions about transferring the site to the popular press. This change would have enabled AS to become their 1st foray into consulting their readership. What sounded good in the beginning turned out to be a strangle-hold on our freedom to harvest your votes on some of the more challenging questions that surround the sport of Angling. The AS team along with a focus group comprising of our most active contributors debated the deal and decided we should remain Independent.

Our second challenge was equally positive – for some time now we have witnessed a growing demand for the funding advice service previously housed within the AS platform.  With guidance from angling’s MP Martin Salter and funding through the Sport England channel to the Lottery’s Awards for All we have secured sufficient funding to cover the set-up of our new funding and development service called FutureFunding.org. This expansion inspired our technical guru Derek O’Brien to rebuild this site – invest in more advanced recording of your preferences and more importantly, respond to your most persistent feedback which, was to lose the necessity to sign-in before accessing Anglers Say.

We have however, retained the need for you to register prior to casting your vote.  The reason for this is simple and straightforward.  Our past successes in harvesting your opinions for Environment Agency research, validating decisions made by our Governing Body and influencing the ideas that  preceded the launch of FACT* have been based on our ability to validate the results of your poling.  This means that whilst we always keep your identity secret our poll reports contain sufficient information to make your response irrefutable.

Because you cast your votes in such numbers, even those in our sport most resistant to change cannot hide behind a veil of ignorance and continue to claim they do not have a mandate to make things better

Anglerssay.com as the UK’s only dedicated angling polling resource provides you the chance to influence that change –

So stand up for angling and be counted…
